Kathryn Dougherty

With a career that has spanned finance, new product development, strategic planning, M&A, marketing, sales, and operations, Kathryn can claim a "spiral staircase: of functional exposure that has helped her become the general management leader she is today.  She has trained in world-class Fortune 50 organizations to hone her expertise in finance, M&A, & product innovation. After founding her own companies and working in executive finance & product roles in private startups and seed-VC funds, she found her way to Waterston Capital, where her diverse set of experiences serves her well as a strategic deal partner, empathetic people leader, and focused executor.  

As Waterston's Chief Investment Officer, Kathryn brings a keen understanding of entrepreneurship to her role. She is the founder and owner of KCD & Co., her eponymous management consulting business, which specializes in equity financing, innovation, and strategic planning for MedTech, Software and CPG companies. She serves as CFO for Xiid Corp, is an Innovation Educator for Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI), and is on the Advisory Board for Accelerating Angels. She was the Chief Financial and Strategy Officer for The Metz Appliance, and the founder and CEO of Spritz Beverages. Prior to that, she spent ten years at Johnson & Johnson, largely in innovations and brand management roles.
